Rafting in Ladakh

No holiday is complete without a tryst with the waters. And Ladakh makes sure you make full use of the Indus and its tributaries. Placed strategically on the banks of this great river, between the rivulets Spituk and Saspol, Ladakh is a traveller's muse. The 20,000-mile-long river, which originates in Tibet, is a good bet if you're looking at extreme adventure sports like rafting or kayaking. And what could be a better way to check out the countryside than an exhilarating ride in its waters. The diverse terrain, the interesting foliage and the surf-like feel of the waters can get you addicted. Beginners, amateurs and professionals can run the course of the river on different stretches. Apart from sightseeing and exploring the scenic beauty, rafting in the chill waters of Ladakh can be adventurous and exciting simply because of the adrenaline jolt.

Ladakh's two main rivers are the Indus and the Zanskar. Spituk, on the bank of the Indus, is the starting point for river rafting in Ladakh. The route runs up to Saspol, a small village near Alchi. One of the best ways to take a look at the enterprising Indus Valley, rafting to Saspol is highly recommended by professional adventure sport lovers.  Most of the rivers are frozen during the winters, so its best for you to book your trip during the spring-summer months. Apart from the summer months, August and September are also good months to enjoy rafting, as the waters are calmer and more manageable.

We provide a wide range of rafting and kayaking options with different grades for amateurs and professionals alike.
